General Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: September 1, 2026

Thank you for the opportunity to quote on your project. Please see the below General Terms and Conditions for Transport and Payment for all services provided by Bowline Logistics or any of its affiliates.

Quotations & Rates

  • Rates are based on equipment provided in the quote. Should the client wish to see other equipment options, costs may change.
  • Overall price, equipment and manpower rates are meant for the specific quote in which they were attached and are valid for 90 days from date provided. Rates will be honored for the duration of the project provided commercial commitment is supplied within 90 days of distribution.
  • Fuel surcharges may be applied, where applicable, and will be calculated based on prevailing rates at the time of transportation.
  • Prices are based on the weights and dimensions of the cargo as provided by the client at time of bid. Any change to said dimensions or weight might result in changes to costs.
  • Rates assume the load’s center of gravity is centered unless stated otherwise.
  • Seasonal restrictions – Rates are not valid during road ban or frost law periods unless explicitly noted otherwise.
  • Quotation and rates are subject to equipment availability at the time of booking.

Transportation & Site Requirements

  • Prices are subject to free and clear access to all equipment at both the shipping and receiving points. Bowline Logistics can provide a review of areas or provisions of drawings at client request.
  • Quotation is based on 2 hours loading and 2 hours offloading by others unless otherwise specified in the specific proposal. All additional hours will be paid as per the hourly rates in the attached quotation.
  • Quotation is based on suitable ground conditions at all client or fabricator sites. Client or fabricator is responsible for ensuring ground conditions meet the minimum space and stability requirements for the equipment being used to deliver cargo. Bowline Logistics can provide supporting information or a review of areas at the client’s request.
  • No site orientations or additional Drug and Alcohol Testing outside of those specified in Bowline’s Safety manual were considered in this quotation unless specified. Any site orientations, training or additional A&D testing will be billed to the customer at cost and hourly rates.
  • Packaging of cargo must be road worthy for transport and meet all federal and provincial regulations.

Scheduling, Delays & Cancellations

  • Bowline Logistics cannot be held responsible for any delays out of its own control. Delays caused by severe weather, customer labor disputes or strike, site labor unpreparedness, client miscommunication or misinformation, forced highway shutdowns or any other municipal, provincial or federal regulations, or any other delays out of the direct control of Bowline Logistics will result in charges billed at hourly rates provided in the quotation.
  • Bowline Logistics will make every reasonable effort to make delivery as requested, but the estimated pickup or delivery time is not guaranteed. Bowline Logistics shall not be liable for any damages, whether direct, indirect or consequential, as a result of delays in estimated pickup or delivery.
  • Bowline Logistics requires 21 days’ pre-notice for all specialized or multi-axle shipments unless otherwise agreed upon.
  • Any additional mobilization or demobilization requirements of men or equipment caused by circumstances out of the direct control of Bowline Logistics will result in charges based on hourly rates provided in the attached quotation.
  • Cancellations will require a minimum of 48 hours notice for order cancellations. Failure to provide adequate notice may result in a Truck Ordered Not Used (TONU) fee and/or reimbursement of actual costs incurred (e.g., permits, mileage, driver layover, etc.).

Permits, Routes & Specialized Transportation

  • The rate includes standard transportation permits and civilian pilot vehicles unless otherwise stated.
  • Utilities, wire lifting, police escorts and traffic control services are not included in any estimate and will be billed at the cost plus 10% unless otherwise specifically noted in the attached quotation.
  • Unless otherwise requested, this quote has been provided site unseen. A route survey at client expense by a Bowline Logistics supervisor can be requested at rates provided upon request.
  • Structural (bridge) analysis or surveys (engineering) required by local jurisdictions for route clearance are not included in the project cost and will be billed at the referenced cost plus in the quotation.
  • Quotation is subject to permit acquirement from all local authorities and utility companies at the time of booking.

Subcontracting

  • Bowline Logistics reserves the right to broker or subcontract loads as deemed, within its sole discretion, to be necessary and appropriate. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, these general terms and conditions shall apply to any brokered or subcontracted load.

Payment Terms

  • All invoices will be due for payment within thirty (30) days of the date of the invoice. Late payments shall accrue interest at the rate of one percent (1.0%) per month up to 60 days and two percent (2.0%) per month from 60 to 120 days. In the event collection efforts become necessary, customers shall pay contractor’s costs of collection, including attorneys’ fees, collection agency charges, and other similar expenses.

Insurance Coverage

  • Insurance Coverage — In the absence of a declared value by the shipper on the Bill of Lading, the shipment shall be deemed to have a declared value not exceeding $2.00 per pound ($4.41 per kilogram) based on weight, which shall constitute the maximum liability of the carrier.
