About the Role

As an Owner-Operator Truck Driver, you will operate your own commercial vehicle while working closely with the Bowline Logistics dispatch team to transport freight safely and efficiently.

You will handle a wide range of shipments including heavy haul, oversized equipment, open deck freight, and LTL loads, supporting industries across Western Canada and beyond.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Transport freight safely and efficiently to designated destinations across Canada and the United States.
  • Operate and maintain your commercial truck in excellent working condition, including scheduling routine inspections and repairs.
  • Ensure all cargo is properly secured and compliant with weight restrictions and load securement regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including trip logs, delivery records, permits, and other transportation paperwork.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, shippers, receivers, and customers regarding schedules, delays, and route updates.
  • Adhere to all federal, provincial/state, and local transportation laws and regulations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) / Class 1 license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional truck driving experience preferred.
  • Ownership or lease of a well-maintained commercial truck suitable for long-haul freight.
  • Strong understanding of freight transportation, road safety regulations, and cargo securement.
  • Experience with open deck, step deck, heavy haul, or specialized freight is considered a strong asset.
  • Comfortable handling cross-border freight and customs documentation.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to operate independently while maintaining strong communication with dispatch.
  • Professional attitude with a commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while operating commercial vehicles on long-haul routes.
  • Capable of lifting, securing, and inspecting cargo when required.

Compensation & Perks

  • Earnings are based on negotiated contract
  • Owner-operators have the potential for strong earning opportunities depending on routes, availability, and performance.
