Meet Our President: Tyler Boyd

Founder. Leader. Trucker at Heart.

Tyler Boyd didn’t take the traditional route to leadership—he carved his own. With a passion for hands-on experience, Tyler built his 20+ year career the same way Bowline moves freight: with grit, determination, and a relentless commitment to moving forward.

His roots in entrepreneurship trace back to working alongside his parents in a liquid sanitation business. That entry point led to over a decade in civil construction, where he managed excavation, underground works, trenchless projects, and aggregate production. As his work expanded to managing heavy equipment and operating a large gravel-hauling fleet, the need to move his own machines more efficiently sparked something bigger.

After a particularly frustrating phone call in 2018, where a dispatcher turned him away immediately, because they were “too busy” — Tyler spotted a gap in the market and acted fast. By noon, he’d bought a trailer. By 1 p.m., Bowline’s first load was already en route. What began out of necessity quickly gained momentum, evolving into a full-scale logistics operation known for stepping up when others won’t.

Tyler’s Bowline journey began behind the wheel, fielding customer calls and personally booking hauls. As the fleet grew, so did his role—from driver to dispatcher, from problem-solver to people leader. Today, he leads a team of logistics professionals with the same mindset that got him here: no job is beneath you, and leadership starts in the trenches.

Tyler Boyd - President - Bowline Logistics

He’s especially passionate about connecting with people—whether that’s staff, customers, or vendors—and watching the Bowline team grow. You’ll still find him behind the wheel from time to time, reminding his team (and himself) that leadership doesn’t come from behind a desk. It comes from being out front.

Now based in Spruce Grove, Alberta, Tyler lives near Bowline’s Northern Alberta operations with his wife Amanda of 17 years and their four kids. When he’s not running the business, he’s busy on the family farm, working with animals, fixing up their latest home, or hitting the road in the family motorhome. His oldest son has even joined the crew, working with Bowline’s mechanics after school. Proof that some legacies are built one wrench turn at a time.

What many don’t see behind Tyler’s success is his dedication to others, especially fellow entrepreneurs navigating tough roads. Having faced his share of financial challenges, he speaks openly about failure and recovery, and often mentors business owners who feel like they’re out of options.

Today, Bowline is one of Western Canada’s most respected transport providers—but it all started with one problem, one trailer, and one solution-minded leader.

Meet Our CEO: Delly McEwan

Executive. Builder. Teammate.

Delly McEwan brings more than 25 years of leadership across transportation, logistics, and energy infrastructure to his role as Chief Executive Officer of Bowline Logistics. His leadership approach is grounded by the belief that best results and service, come from teams who are empowered through mutual accountability.

Delly’s path to Bowline has been shaped by deep operational experience and a wide-angle view of the industry. He’s the former President and Founder of NexGen Transportation, a company known for executing specialized transportation projects with precision. He’s also held executive roles in renewable energy construction, crane and rigging, and Indigenous economic development—including as CEO of the Gwich’in Development Corporation and Managing Director of a major wind energy firm. His experience spans global players like Kuehne + Nagel, Bechtel, Bantrel, and Air Liquide Global Energy Solutions.

With a formal education in Project Management from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, Delly pairs field-tested experience with strategic leadership. A strong advocate for safety, he believes that superior performance starts with a culture where zero incidents are a shared responsibility. Nothing reflects a team’s alignment more than how it looks out for one another.

Delly McEwan - CEO - Bowline Logistics

What initially drew Delly to Bowline was the culture. A 100% Canadian-owned company where people come first, Bowline stood out as a place where voices are valued equally. Delly sees his role as both a contributor and a collaborator, helping shape long-term strategy while staying closely connected to day-to-day operations.

At Bowline, he’s focused on supporting a service-driven environment and developing a true single-stop, asset-based logistics platform servicing the North American market while earning trust through consistency and care.

Outside of work, Delly serves as Board Chair for Little Warriors, a Canadian charitable organization focused on the awareness, prevention, and treatment of child sexual abuse. He lives in Spruce Grove, Alberta with his two daughters, ages 9 and 13, and draws inspiration from his father, who like him, was in the field as well.

Delly believes there’s no goal too far out of reach when a team is aligned. That belief is what drew him to Bowline and it’s what continues to drive him forward.
